Are they different than a trimmer? These are not the same! Both are excellent hairstyling tools. Both can give you a smooth and full install with the appearance that your hair is actually growing from your head.

Clips or Frontals: These are attachments that lie across the top of your head from one side to the other. There are also variations of these clippers – the blades can be in a straight position, or be in an “X” configuration. Most frontals will have the blades in a straight position. There are some frontals which allow for a small gap between the blade and the front of the scalp (known as a silk base). These are called parabolic frontals and provide a nice versatility when you have curly hair!

Silk Base: These are hairpieces which sit on the top of the frontal hairpiece. They are sewn in place from one side, or in different places depending on the style desired. Most have a strip of elastic hair along the sewn line. The advantage of these clippers is that there are no springs which make them susceptible to popping or sticking. All-closure frontals usually have these.

Which Frontal to Choose? Hairpieces which sit on the top of the frontal have the ability to work well with any hairstyle. Parabolic hairpieces tend to give you more versatility and can even be worn straight, wavy or curly! These are great if you want to try out several different hairstyles without the hassle of having to go through the trouble of changing your clipper every time.

Sewn Lace closures: These are the most common type of frontals, and also the most common type, which are used for hairpieces. There are a lot of different choices when it comes to lace closures, and you will find that they come in a wide variety of colors and patterns. Choices include flat frontals, box frontals, hooked or ratcheted closures and many others. You will also find that there are different options when it comes to hair piece attachments. Attachments can include things like bangs, clips and flowers.

Clip-ons and Push-ons: These are the two most common types of hair pieces. Clip-ons are those which are simply clips where the hair piece attaches to the front of the scalp or pomade sockets that attach to the front of the follicle. Push-ons are attachments that attach to the scalp much like a ponytail and have hair pieces that attach to each individual follicle so that you can secure them into place. Both of these are popular choices for frontals.

Silk and Micro Silk: These are frontals that have been created using silk and mohair. They are popular options because of their natural feel and the flexibility they offer. These lace frontals have the same versatility as clip-ons, but are more flexible because they do not always require one to secure each hair piece into place. Silk and micro lace frontals can be styled any way you like, so you will never run out of options when trying to recreate lace frontals. This makes them ideal if you are trying to recreate hairstyles that do not always require attaching hair pieces to the front of the scalp, such as bobs or weaves https://www.hollywoodhairatlanta.com/

Braiding and Wavy: These are options that can make lace frontals even more versatile, because you can create curly bundles or straight bundles depending on your preference. They are perfect for people who have naturally curly hair, since curly bundles can easily be braided into place and then left to dry. The advantage of this option is that you do not lose the natural look of your hair when using these types of frontals, because the curls do not fall out, and they are not glued in place. If you are interested in experimenting with curly bundles, consider using micro lace closures on your frontals to create curly bundles that can be pinned into place.
